ISIS Foundation New Building

Client        : ISIS Foundation
Location    : Kuala Lumpur
Year          : 2008

The EAG (Design studio) team, in collaboration with a local architectural firm, proposed a design for the new ISIS building incorporating an internationally-recognized set of criteria on sustainable design. The aim is to create a state-of-art facility for Malaysia’s premier think tank while linking to global concerns for sustainability and energy efficiency. Through such an achievement, the building reinforces a corporate commitment to sustainability while creating a working environment that is highly adaptable to varying patterns of working and collaborating, while promoting efficient interaction between occupants. The overall massing is a modern, cantilevered, elevated approach with intersecting orthogonal planes. This form lends itself to a modular method of construction based on prefabrication– further reducing the disturbance of site, while controlling costs and reducing construction time.
